Ahwatukee Republican Women won 2nd Place for their outstanding Newsletter at the AzFRW State Meeting, November 2011


ARW is honored to be a recipient of the National Federation of Republican Women Diamond Award which is the highest level award for club achievement!


The Club Achievement Awards were presented to clubs that demonstrate excellence in membership development, campaign activities, community relations, programs, and club functions. Recipients were recognized during the Awards Luncheon at the National Federation of Republican Women’s 36th Biennial Convention, Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2011 in Kansas City, MO.

Membership is from January 1st to December 31st.


Benefits of membership include:

  • Monthly General Meeting, featuring dynamic guest speakers, including local, state and federal elected Republican officials;

  • Subscription to the monthly ARW newsletter, keeping you up to date on all ARW activities

  • Subscription to the newsletter of the AzFRW Federation of Republican Women;

  • Subscription to the newsletter of the National Federation of Republican Women;

  • Full voting rights and privileges (does not apply to associates)

  • Frequent e-mail updates regarding campaign volunteer opportunities for Republican candidates.

Membership categories and dues are:

  • Active Membership ($25) - Full privileges of membership in ARW, Arizona Federation of Republican Women, and National Federation of Republican Women, as well as publications from all three organizations.

  • Associate Membership ($10) - Available to women with membership in another Federated Republican Women club, as well as to Republican men who wish to support ARW, including spouses of club members.

Ahwatukee Republican Women Award 1st Annual Marjorie Miner Scholarship for High School Senior

Ahwatukee – The Ahwatukee Republican Women’s Club awarded the 1st Annual Marjorie Minor Scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to Desert Vista HS graduating senior Lacey Jean Morris at their General Meeting at the Grace Inn Phoenix on April 26, 2011.  Marjorie Miner presented the scholarship award with approximately 100 in attendance to include US Congressman David Schweikert (CD 5). 

Applicants submitted an essay incorporating their personal involvement in the areas of volunteer service, extra curricular activities, hobbies and interests, employment history, and educational goals.

Marjorie Miner Scholarship Application

Their goal is to assemble and send 100 boxes every month to our troops and ARW hopes to help them! The East Valley Military Support Group was founded by Faith Steele in March 2003. Faith is the wife and mother of veterans, two of which are still in the military. In the past 50 years, she has had someone from her family in the Air Force, Marines, and Army. Three of those veterans have retired with 20 – 23 years of Active Duty. One has seven more years to serve. Needless to say, Faith and her family are avid supporters of the military.

Items Needed:

  • Food: Chips, crackers, cereal, taco shells, salsa, canned fruit, canned tuna, Ramen noodles, cookies, hard candy, canned nuts, beef jerky, energy bars, canned nacho dip, drink powder, cookies and similar items. No pork or pork products.

  • Sanitary and Comfort Items: Handi-wipes, shampoo, deodorant, razors, soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, chapstick, foot powder, sun block, cotton swabs, inflatable pillows and similar items.

  • Books, Magazines and Other Reading Materials: Paperback books, recent magazines, and newspapers

  • Writing Materials: Writing paper, pens, envelopes, small diaries, and notebooks.

  • Entertainment Items: Board games, frisbees, nerf balls, playing cards, CD's and DVD's.

The East Valley Military Support Group is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization.
