Arrowhead Republican Women has had a busy five months. We had our Candidates Forum in April with a large attendance among members, guests, and candidates. We now have 101 members. We honored Governor Jan Brewer at our May luncheon as one of the founding members of ARW for her dedication and service to the Republican Party. We resume our monthly meetings in September, and our program chair is planning on several excellent speakers. Three of our members received awards at the Lincoln Day Luncheon, Frosty Taylor, Patsey Denne, and Elizabeth Rohn-Nelson. CRWC - Central Republican Women’s Club - Kate McGee, President Membership recruitment continues to be our highest priority. The Board is working hard to invite guests to our luncheons, and to “seal the deal” with a membership offer during the luncheon. New members are welcomed, mentored, and invited to join one of our two committees – Political Action or Community Outreach. I would like to highlight the contributions of our Membership Chairwoman, Alice Lara. Her experience and hard work ensured the success of our forum series. We have also had many candidates seeking a number of elective offices come visit us and introduce themselves and their candidacies.

During the fall we plan to continue with our Armed Forces Support, and our Caring for America projects. In addition, individual members will continue to contribute countless volunteer hours to their favorite candidates. Our Armed Forces Committee is working with the local Blue Star Mom chapter to donate items to our deployed Arizona based soldiers, as many of our members are moms of active duty military. At the time of this writing two of our member’s children are in the final preparations for a twelve month deployment to Afghanistan. Our Caring for America projects include collecting books for the local prisons, and donating items to the local Humane Society. We have a special guest speaker and membership drive planned for December. |
