Lincoln Republican Women’s Club
- Patricia Kaufman, President
Lincoln Republican Women’s
Club membership has reached 42, which is up 33% since January.
We have implemented a new
format at our meetings, having a “Hot Seat” for guest speakers, who move
from table to table so all may get “up close and personal.” We have
focused on candidate forums since the beginning of the year.
Congressional candidates in Districts 3 and 5, Legislative candidates in
District 8, Corporation commission candidates and gubernatorial
candidates.
We have initiated a Junior
Associate membership program for young women (TARS) and it has been
nationally approved. We donated $1000 to the TARS scholarship for their
Washington DC trip. Plans are in the works for a similar scholarship
for a woman college student majoring in political science with
Republican values.
Our club secretary, Nancy
Kay Arnold, author of Patriotic Pups, has been chosen to serve on the
NFRW Mamie Eisenhower Literacy Program (MELP) Committee. And her book
is featured on the NFRW web site.
We have good participation
of the membership for campaign hours. Two members of the Lincoln Club
attended the Day at the Legislature and four members will be attending
the AzFRW Meeting in Prescott on June 18 and 19. Contact President
Patricia Kaufman

PVRWC - Palo
Verde Republican Women’s Club - Barbara
Randel, President
Palo Verde Republican
Women’s club is focused on getting the best Republican candidates
elected in November. Towards this goal, we have hosted candidate
luncheon meetings with great Republican speakers each month this year.
On May 22nd, our club
hosted a very special Luncheon, "Candidates 2010 Forum", held at the
Chaparral Suites Conference Center. Our festive room was patriotically
decorated and the PVRW Board members wore straw-like hats with red,
white, and blue emblems.
The Republican candidates
were given three minutes to share information about who they were and
their positions on relevant issues. Thirty-two very qualified
candidates spoke and we learned a lot about them.
Our women put together a
very successful silent auction with forty great items donated and
patriotic jewelry items sold.
Our PVRW club received
many compliments from candidates, members, and guests. Everyone had a
very good time. For information contact President Barbara Randel at
barbrandel@yahoo.com or phone 480-948-2784.
PRWC - Paradise
Republican Women’s Club - Susan Kay
Schultz, President
Paradise Republican
Women’s Club has concluded their series of Candidates Forums. Hundreds
of guests have poured into the Gainey Ranch Golf Club (handicapped
accessible) in Scottsdale to meet and discuss issues with the
candidates that have been featured over the past six months.
We continue to post
invitations on candidate rallies, fundraisers and debates on our
Paradise Republican Women’s Club Facebook page. Our award-winning Web
site
www.prwc.org
is always current with Club information and activities.
As part of a nationwide
effort by the National Federation of Republican Women the Paradise
Republican Women sponsored a voter registration drive on May 14 at seven
libraries throughout the Cave Creek, Phoenix and Scottsdale area.
The Caring for America
committee continues to lead us in serving our community. Our newest
project was Diapers Galore & More. In conjunction with the Arizona
National Guard State Family Programs, Paradise Republican Woman held a
baby shower on April 24 for expectant moms whose husbands are currently
deployed.
The
event was warmly received, successful and attracted television and radio
coverage. Another baby shower is planned for November.
Throughout the year we
support the UMOM New Day Centers. On Friday, March 5, Club members
gathered for an outing and toured the facility in Phoenix. Our
involvement in this project sets a high standard for all organizations
that are committed to charitable works. We have remained loyal for more
than five years and as the need becomes greater; our gifts become even
more meaningful.
Each year the Club helps
finance the trip for the Arizona TARS students that attend the Annual
Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. with a $1,000 contribution.
