The four clubs in Region Four spent most of 2010 working for Republican candidates and featuring them as speakers at their monthly meetings.  Members of the clubs elected to office  in  2010 include State  Representatives Doris Goodale of KRW and Nancy McLain of CRRW, City Council members Margaret Nyberg of LBRW, Robin Gordon and Carol Young of KRW and Justice of the Peace members Jill Davis of LHRW and Jean Bishop of KRW.

At the Mohave Country GOP meeting in January of 2011 Hildy Angius of CRRW was elected first vice chair, Anita Boyd of KRW was elected secretary and Sandi Reynolds of KRW and LaJuana Gillette of LBRW were elected region directors.  Helen Moran of LBRW is the parliamentarian for the county party and Nichole of LBRW is the director of voter registration.  Our county is well served by these outstanding Republican women.  Sixty two of our members serve as P.C.’s in Mohave County and are working hard to update our voter lists.

Our region workshop was held in April of this year and we were fortunate to have Dianna Soe Myint give a presentation on leadership development.   Our own Hildy Angius gave us tips on how to use the media to promote our clubs and how to use social networking.

Three of the club presidents served a two year term; Melissa Havatone of Kingman RW, Hildy Angius of Colorado River RW and Shawna Thornton of Lake Havasu RW.  Terrie Roberg was the president of London Bridge RW for 2010 and Eileen Nexsen has served as president in 2011. I have enjoyed working with these leaders and appreciate their kindness in giving me an opportunity to speak at their meetings.

We sadly report the loss of several members these past two years; Dolores Seroy and Lorraine Hunt of KRW, Pat Creason and June DeLuca of LHRW and Ritva Hamu of LBRW.  These women all contributed to the growth and success of all three clubs.

Ten Republican women have already indicated plans to run for elected office either at the state, county or local level and many are gathering signatures for their candidacy.  I am sure we may have some additional candidates as we get closer to the filing dates.

My special thanks to several members of the four clubs who made donations to purchase the beautiful NFRW eagle and pearl pin as a surprise gift to me at our 2010 county picnic.  I wear it with pride and deep appreciation to the women of Region Four.

I am looking forward to working with these outstanding Republican women in 2012 and 2013 as we continue to “Take Back America"

CRRW - Colorado River Republican Women - Hildy Angius, President

The CRRW have featured several local speakers including the mayor, city manager, our three State Legislators, and a representative from the Mohave County Medical Reserve Corps who spoke on emergency preparedness.  The Bullhead City Lincoln Day Dinner was a huge success, raising over 11K.  Sheriff Joe was the featured speaker and over 340 were in attendance.  Tom Morrissey, State GOP Chair will be the speaker at their June dinner meeting.

KRW - Kingman Republican Women - Melissa Havatone, President

In March, Secretary of State Ken Bennett spoke on the Arizona State budget and entertained the members of KRW with his guitar and singing.  Doris Goodale, a member of KRW, and one of our State Legislators, gave a wrap up of the recent legislative session.  The newly elected officers of the Mohave County Central Committee spoke at a recent club meeting, outlining plans for our county organization for the next two years.

LHRW - Lake Havasu Republican Women - Shawna Thornton, President

LHRW presented three scholarships to graduating seniors in May.  Funds to support these scholarships were raised at a very successful garage sale.   The club also donated $600 of copy paper to the local schools.  The club continues to support the local food bank and the Food 4 Kidz program.  Two of their meetings featured speakers both for and against an annexation election, which was a very hot topic in Lake Havasu City.

LBRW - London Bridge Republican Women -  Eileen Nexsen, President

LBRW also gave out two scholarships at the Night of Excellence at our local high school. Three of their club meetings were devoted to speakers about the annexation issue.  LBRW held another very successful casino night to raise funds for the U. S. Constitution classes held at two elementary schools, the high school, and Mohave County Community College.  St. Sen. Ron Gould, who is also the Mohave County Central Committee Chair will speak at the June meeting.
